During the reign of Philippe IV le Bel, France tried to increase its domain. For his part, the Count of Flanders, Guy de Dampierre tries to protect his domain and the commercial freedoms acquired by his cities. During a real feudal war, the French and Flemings clash in front of Kortrijk. This battle is known as the Battle of the Golden Spurs, following the massacre of the French knighthood and the taking of the famous trophies by the people of Flanders.

This book allows us to discover the causes of this battle and ends with a discovery of the Kortrijk museum, of which Véronique Lambert is the curator.
