This new manual is devoted to field artillery under the First Empire and the Gribeauval system. The first part describes the parts and materials, as well as their use. We then discuss the different types of ammunition. Finally, a glossary will allow you to know the different terms used at the time. This fifth volume is in line with the previous ones with the idea that the most reliable sources are the documents and collections of the time. The Gribeauval system will bring about a radical change in the use of artillery. Its designer will be adored by all French artillerymen and by Napoleon; it will provide a formidable tool for the Emperor's soldiers who will use it on battlefields across Europe.
Note: The "Instruction Manual" collection presents unpublished documents on the history of military training, especially during the Napoleonic period. It is essential for all enthusiasts of reconstruction and for those who love military techniques taught in the past.
